First Photos

Here are some pictures from my day touring the city. You can click on each picture for a larger view.

This is Al-Akbar National Mosque as I saw it from the minaret. The egg shape of the dome is quite unusual for Indonesia.

One of the teak doors at an entrance to the main floor of the mosque.

View of the main worship area of the mosque taken from the second-floor balcony.

Interior of the Kong Co Kong Tik Cun Ong temple. Primarily buddhist, but with some Confucian and Taoist altars too. The incense smoke was thick when I was there.

Courtyard at the back of Kong Co Kong Tik Cun Ong temple, looking across the Madura Strait.

A toasty but happy tourist.
